EXIT festival 2009

Held in Novi Sad, Serbia’s second largest city, the huge event takes place in the grounds of the huge Petrovaradin Fortress located above the sprawling river Danube. This year the festival celebrated its 10th anniversary, having started out as a protest against former Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic back in 2000. And the list of acts who signed to celebrate the event’s birthday proved just how much the event has grown in stature since its humble beginnings. Global stars such as LILY ALLEN, THE PRODIGY, MOBY, MADNESS, CARL COX, ARCTIC MONKEYS, KRAFTWERK and dozens more besides attracted a staggering 90,000 visitors from around Europe and the rest of the world.
